Maargamitra helps students figure out which undergraduate research-focused programmes in India are actually realistic and worthwhile — using real admission and research data, not just reputation or guesswork.
Where the data comes from
The numbers here come from a larger, ongoing project that studies undergraduate programmes across Indian institutes — how hard they are to get into, what they actually teach, and how strong their research really is. This site currently shows 74 programmes, all at IITs and IISc Bangalore. See what’s covered so far.
How this site works
Everything you see is calculated the same simple way every time — the same rank and the same programme will always give you the same answer, and you can always see why. There’s no guessing involved and, for now, no chat-style assistant either — just straightforward tools: a rank checker, a hidden-gems list, a comparison tool, and the full data itself if you want to look at it directly.
Where things stand right now
This site is still being built and checked — it isn’t open to the public yet. The data you’re seeing is real, not placeholder content. If you want to look at the numbers directly, the data browser shows every field for every programme currently loaded.
